The hot topic in today’s stock market is whether or not to buy penny stocks. If you’ve ever wondered what these stocks are and why they are making people a ton of money then read on and you will learn why they are so profitable and, whether or not it is time to buy penny stocks.

But, penny stocks are a different breed of stock. Here’s why:
1) They are low priced
2) They can easily gain 25% or more in just one day
3) If there is good news on the stock they can even rise 100% or more
With these types of stock it is a lot easier to jump from 2 cents to 10 cents than it is for blue chip stocks to jump from $20 to $100. See the point? That’s why smart traders always have some penny stocks in their portfolio.
If you are new to penny stocks then you might wonder why they can rise in price so fast. Nine times out of ten it is because of some positive news about the company whose stock you are buying.
For example, if a particular company is selling a product and gets a contract from – let’s say Target – and an announcement about this contract is sent out, then you can bet that a smart investor is going to jump at the chance to buy that stock. It’s just common sense that profits from selling that product at such a high profile store are going to increase. This would be a good time to buy penny stocks in that company.
Another reason for a stock to climb in price could be that the company is showing some positive business progress and traders and investors have been expecting it and are jumping on the stock. On the other hand positive news doesn’t always make the shares jump. This is due to the fact that the stock is under the radar of trader/investor awareness. So, just because certain companies have positive news it does not always mean it is time to buy penny stocks.
To buy penny stocks that are about to make enormous gains you need to look for VOLUME. Volume surges in these stocks are a big factor when you are looking for those big hitters. If you see high volume and the price of the stock is rising then you are seeing “buying pressure.” The trick is to figure out how long this buying pressure will go on for you to determine if it is time to buy them.
If you are inexperienced or don’t know how to do the research to buy penny stocks then you need to hire someone who has the expertise and knowledge.

If you have an interest in the stock market, the popular trading of penny stocks probably seems very appealing to you because of the potential for a high return on your investment. There are many things you should look into before beginning to trade these type of stocks, including the timing of your purchases and when to buy the stocks.
It is important prior to beginning penny stock trading that you have saved up a substantial amount of money to work with. Although penny stocks are very appealing to investors because of their low cost (the SEC defines penny stocks as stocks that are less than $5 per stock per share), many of these stocks lose their value due to events like the companies going out of business.
You will also want to have the ability to buy and sell these stocks at a moments notice, and at that point you will not have time to move funds into your brokerage account, so it important to start your penny stock trading when you are financially comfortable to do so.
Prior to starting to invest in penny stocks, you also must make one big decision, whether or not to use a broker/advisor to help you decide which stocks to invest in, or whether to do it yourself using an online site. There are benefits to each way of trading.
By using a broker, you do have to pay a percentage to the broker as their commission, but you get the benefit of running your ideas by an experienced professional who can help you maneuver through the often false information available out there regarding these stocks. But by managing things yourself using an online site, you typically pay a flat fee and wind up paying less to do your trades.
If you would like to move forward trading penny stocks on your own using an online site, the timing of your purchases will be important. It is a good idea to trade through a site that will make recommendations to you on timing and what stocks are hot. Although you can’t count on this information to turn into anything concrete, at least you will have some guidance of how to choose the right penny stocks.
